Unfortunately named Vietnamese-Australian, Bich Phuc Dat, has been forced to post an image of his passport to Facebook after being constantly banned for using a ‘fake name’.
Phuc, 23, told the world world wide web that the situation is “highly irritating” and that he is rarely believed when he spells out his full name. As a last ditch attempt to clear the air surrounding his name he posted his passport which clearly showed his full name. The passport was then shared tens of thousands of times, the internet at his finest.
In a statement accompanying the post he wrote:
I’ve been accused of using a false and misleading name, which I find very offensive. I find it highly irritating the fact that nobody seems to believe me when I say that my full legal name is how you see it. Is it because I’m Asian? Is it? Having my [Facebook account] shut down multiple times and forced to change my name to my ‘real’ name, so just to put it out there. My name. Yours sincerely, Phuc Dat Bich.
At least he’s not alone, here are a few of his mates.
